This past school year, my youngest sister graduated from her high school, my previous Alma mater. I decided to spice up a few simple pieces in my wardrobe to complement some outstanding accessories. I'd much rather be overdressed than under dressed just in case I run into a couple of familiar faces.

Always Remember: Dress to Express!

Black Leather Mullah.

A friend of mine and I went to enjoy the Los Angeles native, Kid Ink, in concert at the Dallas House of Blues. The concert was a good opportunity to relax after a busy work week with good people. I decided to dress for the occasion in a comfortable graphic T-shirt and leather look coupled with a four inch caged wedge heel. I wore the outfit for about 5 hours, all the while, staying extremely comfortable. I paired the semi-black and white look with an electric blue statement lipstick that I absolutely adore as well as my signature 3 chains look.

Remember:
Style is not only about how the outfit looks on but should also embody a spirit of confidence.

Blacc & Goldd.

This past weekend I attended a banquet that my university was hosting. It was an absolutely beautiful event. There was live music, delicious food, and beautiful people. It was the first time I saw my class mates dressed to impress in a formal setting. I will definitely be attending on next year.  I went in a fairly reasonable priced semi-black A-line dress with sheer black skirt and gold stone accents embellishing the waistline and  collar.

$treet Credentials.

This past January, I turned 21 years young for the first time ever! To commemorate this occasion, I hired a friend of mine as a photographer and one of my very own sorority sisters as my stylist to help me create the perfect coming of age urban fashion looks ! We used a local park near to my school for the shoot! They were able to capture my vision perfectly. It took me four months to share them, Sorry!

Swimming in Africa.

A few weeks ago, I attended a pool party wearing everything thrifted and looking fabulous.

I am a college student and therefore am on a budget, yes even in the summer.
I go thrifting at least twice a month maybe more. It's my guilty pleasure with out a fix or a hangover. I can usually find about 4-6 really good pieces for less than $10. (Look for a post on my love for thrifting soon)

I recently found a black swim suit that I wanted to wear like a leotard. It fits my chest perfectly since there was no chance that I could wear a bra. The posterior of the suit sinks down my back about 13 inches  to show off my back muscles and hides my side rolls perfectly.  I decided to couple it with a pair of African tribal print linen pants and black sandals. Add on some gold jewelry and round frames for my eyes and I easily had a comfortable yet stylish pool party outfit that did nothing less but turn heads. I didn't actually swim that day but if I wanted to the one piece suit would be easily converted into pool time gear by climbing out of the linen pants. The black color was not only slimming but chic as well.
